Cheri Wozniak has an extensive background in structuring financing for entertainment, as well as producing live events, films, and television programs. Ms. Wozniak currently is the President of In Crowd, a Los-Angeles based consulting firm that specializes in structuring financing and brand integration for a variety of entertainment-affiliated endeavors, as well as producing live events, films, and television programs. In Crowd services notable non-profit clientele such as the Congressionally-funded b inTune Foundation Group and the Nobel Charitable Trust, chaired by political/social activist Dr. Michael Nobel.
Previously, as the Senior Vice President of Business Development and
Strategic Finance at Maverick, Ms. Wozniak was instrumental in structuring
and negotiating a five picture co-production deal with the newly formed
mini-major, Regent MB; an eleven picture deal with Starz Home Video
Entertainment; and the three-picture co-production deal with Angel Baby
Entertainment and the Slamdance Film Festival, the contract that became the
cornerstone for the launch of Maverick Films' new horror division, Maverick
Red. As head of Business Development and Strategic Finance, Ms. Wozniak
also oversaw the alternative programming division of Maverick Television and
produced the multi-platform hit, Big Shot Live,which was syndicated in
over 200 Viacom-affiliated markets in February, 2008. During her tenure,
Maverick Television enjoyed two first-look studio deals, first with Fox
Television Studios and then with Fox 21.
Before joining Maverick, Wozniak was a founding member and managing partner
in USA Film and Television Management, LLC, a company specializing in
financing film and television product qualifying under Section 181 of the
American Jobs Creation Act of 2004. The company is poised to finance over
$300 million worth of qualifying television series and films, prior to the
projected sunset of this law.
Although her forte is finance, Wozniak spent many years as a creative
executive in the entertainment industry. She was previously the head of
film and television development for Back 40 Entertainment. While at Back
40, she helped the company launch the SheDance Film Festival, a spin-off to
the Sundance Film Festival. SheDance was the first-ever Sundance spin-off
to focus solely on women - writers, directors, producers, and women's
stories. Before making the leap to Back 40, Wozniak spent five years as a
development executive for In-Finn-Ity Productions. During her time at
In-Finn-Ity, she developed and produced shows for MTV, Lifetime, Reelz, NBC,
GSN, and the Discovery Networks.
Ms. Wozniak has also been involved with the production of numerous
large-scale fundraisers such as Dance 4 Life benefiting Caring for Children
and Families with AIDS, Ritual: A Night of Latin Music and Dancing, a
concert to raise money for the uncompensated fund at the Seattle Children's
Hospital, and Rock the Crib, a hip-hop concert benefiting The Crib, a
two-year transitional home for young mothers.
Ms. Wozniak studied business and management at Purdue University's premier
business school, Krannert School of Management. She also holds a B.A. in
Film Studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
